The Sodeshi Rice Terraces are formed on coastal terraces in Sodeshi, Tango-cho, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture. They have been selected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as one of the 'Top 100 Rice Terraces in Japan' and a 'Tsunagu Tanada Heritage' site. They were also the setting for the 2007 NHK television drama 'Oton no Takaramono'.

Ōyama Senmaida

Oyama Senmaida is a collection of terraced rice fields located in Oyama, Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture. Although called 'Senmaida' (1,000 fields), it actually consists of 375 fields spread over 3.2 hectares of sloping land. In 1999, it was selected as one of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' '100 Terraced Rice Fields of Japan,' and it is also a target area for the Agency for Cultural Affairs' project for the preservation and utilization of cultural landscapes. In 2022, it was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as a 'Tsunagu Tanada Heritage: Passing Local Pride to the Future.' In 2002, it was designated as a cultural property and scenic spot by the Chiba Prefectural Government.

Uchinari Terraced Rice Fields

Located in Uchinari, Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, these fields are one of the six areas in Oita Prefecture selected as part of 'Japan's Top 100 Terraced Rice Fields.' The others include Yufugawa Okuzume in Yufu City, Jikumaru Kita in Bungo-Ono City, Yamaura Hayamizu in Kusu Town, Ryouai in Usa City, and Hadaka in Nakatsu City. They have also been designated as a 'Connecting Terraced Rice Field Heritage' site.

Fukata Reservoir is located in Higashigohata, Yuya-cho, Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It was selected as one of the '100 Selected Reservoirs of Japan' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on March 25, 2010, and the downstream area was selected as one of the '100 Selected Terraced Rice Fields of Japan' as Higashigohata in 1999.

The Nashinokida Rice Terraces are located in Takayanagi-cho, Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture. In 1999, they were selected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as one of the 'Top 100 Rice Terraces in Japan.' Situated near the Isonobe trailhead of Mount Kurohime at an altitude of 400m, the area consists of 36 rice paddies totaling about 2.9 hectares.

These fields were created by reclaiming slopes at an altitude of 150 to 250 meters and stacking stones, a tradition dating from the Northern and Southern Courts period to the mid-Edo period.

It was selected as one of the '100 Selected Reservoirs of Japan' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on March 25, 2010. The upper reaches are also recognized as the Kitasho Terraced Rice Fields, one of the '100 Selected Terraced Rice Fields of Japan' since 1999.
