Overview
Sansaku is a free map of public events across Japan. You can use it without creating an account. This page explains what data is involved and how advertising works.
Information we store
We do not require sign-up and do not collect names, emails, or accounts. Your saved (favorited) events are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes them.
Event data
Event listings are fetched from our public API, which aggregates publicly available event information. We do not track which events you view.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. In the EEA/UK, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Location
The optional “near me” feature uses your device location only while you tap it, to center the map. Your location is not stored or sent to our servers.
