Harako-meshi is a type of seasoned rice dish where rice is cooked in a broth made by simmering salmon with soy sauce and mirin. Before serving, salmon meat and ikura (salmon roe, or harako) are placed on top. While these are the basic components for bento boxes, it is common in restaurants to serve it with salmon miso soup as well.
